Kindly recall the call for nominations for recognition of Heritage Irrigation Structures (HIS) which was issued on 25 January 2017.

I hope the nominations from your National Committee (NC) are under consideration. While you prepare for submitting nominations, please note that the deadline for receiving the HIS nomination is 30 June 2017 instead of 31st May 2016 as inadvertently mentioned in the e-mail below. My apologies for the inadvertent mistake in the deadlines as above.

Considering the increasing number of nominations and the request of Panel of Judges to restrict the total number of entries in a given year a maximum of 4 nominations from NC will be entertained starting from 2017. Accordingly, NCs are requested to submit up to 4 nominations only.

Looking forward to receive nominations for HIS-2017 by 30 June 2017.

Greetings from International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID), New Delhi, India!

As informed on earlier occasions, the process for receiving nominations from National Committee for Heritage Irrigation Structures is continuous and open. Nominations are entertained all through the year for according recognition as Historical Irrigation Structures.

Interested NCs are invited to send nominations of Heritage Irrigation Structures 'which are older than 100 years’ in the prescribed nomination form available at <http://www.icid.org/his_nomination_form.pdf>. The detailed criteria for selection of the historical irrigation structures as HIS is available at <http://www.icid.org/his_scheme.docx>.

All the nominations for Heritage Irrigation Structures (HIS), if received before 31st May 2016, will be considered by the Panel of Judges for inclusion in the ICID Register of Heritage Irrigation Structures in 2017. The successful nominee will receive a “Plaque” during the plenary session of 68th International Executive Council meeting on 10 October 2017 in Mexico.
